I came across this post today and it resonated with me. I’ve written previously about some of own challenges and have even offered my meagre opinion on how I have been tackling them. This post talks about ‘pop psychology’ and mentions many psychological myths that are widely assumed to be true.
It’s an eye-opening read from mental health @ home…

In this series, I dig a little deeper into the meaning of psychology-related terms. This week’s term is pop psychology.
Wikipedia describes popular (pop) psychology as “the concepts and theories about human mental life and behavior that are purportedly based on psychology and that find credence among and pass muster with the populace.” Pop psychology is to psychology sort of like what pseudoscienceis to science.
